One person found this helpful. Good synopsis of the PO role from a leader in the field. I would highly recommend it for new POs.
Might not be a bad idea for the author to update it and publish a second edition. Much has been learned since this book was published. Roman makes clear that there is a lot of work to do prior to starting your first development iteration when you're dealing with products of any size.
His Common Pitfalls section is particularly useful to someone trying to coach agile teams. And his characterization of different anomalous Product Owner types we've all met The Ghost, haven't we?
My only wish is that the site version did a little better job of the graphics, but that's a nit. What a relief to finally find a concise, coherent, cogent book on the Product Owner role! I sit here tonight working on a wiki page to help introduce scrum to a state government agency which is sorely in need of agile adoption.

We've ordered two copies for the IT library, my personal copy is heavily marked up, and our current proxy PO and ScrumMaster both have it in their hands. This book is the perfect length and depth for a new PO coming in from the customer side of the house.
The length is right for an executive to read and the content is sufficient to get a new PO up on their legs and interacting effectively with a newly certified Scrum Master and team who are chomping at the bit to engage with a real customer. You can read it less than a weekend; you can read it in a long afternoon. If you're a CSM yourself: CSM training often doesn't say enough about the PO perspective.
I look forward to seeing an enhanced edition. But if the author is too busy consulting to update this for a while, we can only thank him for what he's done in giving us this very valuable little volume.

I didn't find this book a compelling read. If you are looking for details on how to be a good product manager in the Scrum world, this will not be that helpful.
Nice quick read. Like the break down between operational vs strategic vision role of product owner. Ba's in my company take on that operational part if the product owner role. This book helped provide a framework for explaining how a ba fits into an agile world.
